About Me

Welcome to Whisks & Chopsticks!

I am Tina.  This blog is about homemade foods with wholesome ingredients from scratch…almost.

If I have a choice, I rather bake than cook. You see…dessert is my weakness. Nothing is more satisfying than fresh-off-the-oven home-baked goods.

Cooking on the other hand is a necessity. I had a limited cooking experience until I had to feed my family, and the menu is still limited of what I can offer them.  So here I am, experimenting with recipes from cookbooks and learning from friends and family to cook traditional and healthier alternative dishes.

If you give these recipes a try, let me know how they turn out or how you tweak them.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi Tina, Thank you for following my blog! I hope you find some recipes to try. I was just in Seattle (where I lived for 15 years). I’m looking forward to poking around your site further. -Moira

    • Hello Rants Raves And Rations, congratulations on your award. And thank you for considering Whisks & Chopsticks as great read, and passing the award to my blog. A cherry topping to my best Sunday!

  2. Thanks for your recent Like! Italians believe that “sitting at the dinner table tranquil and relaxed is a lost pleasure that must be found again at any cost”. Glad to see you’re bringing more to the table.

    • The name came to me out of the blue (while driving down the highway) after many months of struggling with finding a blog name. You can basically do almost everything with chopsticks (some of my family members eat pizza and ice cream with them too!) Hope you will find some recipes here that will hit the spot for you. 🙂

    • Hi Cendriani. Thanks for visiting my blog and liking it. 🙂 Been busy and not being able to post lately, but I found some interesting and refreshing recipes and hope to post soon. so please come back again. By the way, you have beautiful pictures on you blog even though I cannot understand French! 🙂

  3. Awesome blog! Glad we found each other through giaff 🙂 I love to bake more than cook actually too, but it is fun to experiment and keep finding new favorites. Look forward to following your whisk and chopstick adventures… 😉

    • Wendy, you are a funny and sweet lady. I am very honored that you nominated my blog. Thank you! and thank you for stopping by…wouldn’t it be fun if our little community of food bloggers can get together and have cook/bake out?

  4. Awesome blog, Tina! Wholesome ingredients, scratch cooking and homemade are all words in my vocabulary! Thank you so kindly for the nomination for the Kreative Blogger Award–much appreciated and thank you for reading my blog! I’ll be stopping by here too!

  5. I definitely share the weakness for baked goods with you – SO much more fun to make, smell, taste, and share. But I agree that regular foods are necessary, so you better believe I’m going to see what you’re up to! 🙂 haha
